During a special ceremony on Veterans Day, Monday, 11 November 2024, a section of Route 127 in Arrowsic, Maine, was renamed in honor of Merwin A. Delano, a decorated Viet Nam Veteran. Private First Class Merwin A. Delano was an Arrowsic, Maine native who was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star with V Device (Posthumously).  This route dedication ceremony was made possible by a long-time friend and fellow Viet Nam Veteran, Walter Coombs. Walter spent over ten years working with local and state politicians to ensure that Private First Class Merwin A. Delano would be forever remembered.
